If you’re on the lookout for a snack that’s delightfully crunchy and loaded with cheesy magic, not to mention protein, look no further. We came up with these when we realized we had four containers of parmesan cheese in the refrigerator! These homemade parmesan chips are about to become your new favorite go-to treat. They’re made with high-quality Parmesan cheese, which, when baked, transforms into a light, crispy chip that packs an impressive flavor punch. Whether you’re hosting a casual get-together or enjoying a meal at home, these chips offer a gourmet experience in just minutes. These honestly could be the easiest thing we've ever made.


Directions:

  • Preheat Your Oven   Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). A hot oven is key to achieving that perfect, rapid crisping process.

  • Prepare Your Baking Sheet   Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This not only prevents the cheese from sticking but also ensures you get beautifully even edges on your chips.

  • Scoop Out the Cheese - I used a cookie scoop to ensure somewhat equally sized chips. Scoop out the finely grated parmesan cheese into a mound on the parchment paper, spacing them out to allow for spreading.

  • Bake to Crispy Perfection   Place the baking sheet in your preheated oven and watch the magic happen. In roughly 7 to 10 minutes—keep a close eye as they can quickly go from golden perfection to overdone—the cheese will melt and then crisp up to form delicate, lacy chips.

  • Pat Dry to ensure crispy chips. The secret to avoiding soggy chips is to remove from the pan when slightly warm and place between two paper towels for approximately 5 minutes.

  • Cool and Enjoy   Remove the chips from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. As they cool, they firm up further, ensuring that satisfying crunch with every bite.


Ingredients:

  • Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese   Use a high-quality Parmesan block, grating it right before you bake. You can also use pre-grated cheese but make sure it's pure parmesan as additives can affect the final texture.
