There are a lot of breakfast places in Los Angeles, but The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker on Sunset is the one that actually feels like ours. Every time we go, it’s like the morning instantly levels up. It’s bright, stylish, and has this calm-but-trendy energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. Just remember, you might also have to wait longer than you planned, but it's worth it.

The whole café looks like it was designed for perfect mornings. Sunlight pours in from huge windows, bouncing off white walls and gold accents. It has this European‑coastal vibe—clean, airy, and a little bit fancy without trying too hard. People are always taking pictures of their drinks, and honestly, everything here is photogenic enough that it makes sense. It’s the kind of place where you feel relaxed but also kind of cool just for being there.

My mom ordered the handcrafted/hand painted latte and the Mushroom, Kale & Eggs, my dad got the Chia Seed & Banana Bowl, and I stole bites from both of them because that’s basically the rule in our family.

Handcrafted Latte (with Signature Latte Art)

This latte is honestly one of the prettiest drinks you’ll ever see. The baristas don’t just pour foam—they paint on it. Swirls of natural colors, little flowers, sometimes even full designs that look like they belong in an art book. It’s the kind of drink you hesitate to sip because you don’t want to ruin it.

But once you do, it’s warm and velvety, with a smooth espresso flavor that isn’t bitter at all. My mom took one sip and literally closed her eyes for a second, which is how I know it was amazing. It’s the kind of latte that makes you feel like the day is already going your way.

Mushroom, Kale & Eggs

This dish looks simple, but it tastes like someone spent a long time getting every part just right. The mushrooms are soft and earthy, almost juicy, with this deep flavor that makes you want another bite immediately. The kale is sautéed until it’s tender but still bright, not wilted or soggy.

And the eggs—perfectly cooked, creamy, and warm—tie everything together. When you get a forkful with a little bit of everything, it tastes clean and comforting at the same time. My mom kept saying, “You have to try this,” which is basically her version of a five‑star review.

Chia Seed & Banana Bowl

My dad ordered this, and it looked like the healthiest breakfast he's ever orderd ... but in a good way. The chia pudding is cool and creamy, with that smooth, almost silky texture that makes it feel refreshing. The bananas add natural sweetness, and the toppings—usually berries, nuts, or granola—give it crunch and color. It tastes bright and energizing, like the kind of breakfast you’d eat before going on a hike or doing something outdoorsy. My dad said it was “surprisingly filling,” which is funny because he says that every time he likes something healthy.
